PM Modi conferred with Afghanistan's highest civilian award

Herat, June 04 (ANI): Adding another feather to his hat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday was conferred with Amir Amanullah Khan Award, the highest civilian award in Afghanistan. Afghan President Dr. Ashraf Ghani conferred the award to PM Modi after the two leaders jointly inaugurated the Afghan-India Friendship Dam, earlier known as the Salma Dam, which was rebuilt with India's aid. "A true brotherhood honoured. PM is awarded with the Amir Amanullah Khan Award, Afghanistan's highest civilian honour," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted. PM Modi arrived in Afghanistan earlier today on the first leg of his five-nation tour.
