India becomes Sophos' top growth market after 60% jump in FY26 business
Global cybersecurity major Sophos has recorded a 60 per cent growth in its India business in the last financial year, outperforming the broader domestic market growth by four times, a top company executive said. India is now the largest contributor to the company's Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) operations and is currently the number one growth region for Sophos globally. "The cybersecurity market in India is growing at approximately 15 per cent. In the last financial year (FY26), we grew at 60 per cent, which means we are growing at four times the market (rate)," Gavin Struthers, Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific & Japan, Sophos, told PTI in an interaction. Struthers attributed this "phenomenal achievement" to the rising awareness of the importance of cyber resilience and increased regulatory focus, including the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. Machine learning, AI next wave of business for Sophos India
Post merger of the Ahmedabad-based network security brand Cyberoam, UK-based network and endpoint security provider Sophos, is now looking at growing its machine learning artificial intelligence based security product portfolio in India.Machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) keeps track of a user's normal behaviour and flags any abnormal activity that could be a potential malware or phishing attack, even as it prevents further damage, said Hemal Patel, Senior Vice President, Sophos, India.This comes on the back of Sophos' recent acquisition of Fairfax, Virginia based Invincea for $100 million, which now allows the former access to Invincea's endpoint security portfolio is designed to detect and prevent unknown malware and sophisticated attacks via its patented deep learning neural-network algorithms.
