An OpenAI engineer has been arrested over an alleged attempt to secretly record confidential meetings using a device hidden in toilet paper. The FBI says Abdulrahman Alfozan, 35, allegedly planted the recorder in an executive conference room. OpenAI used its own AI models to help investigate the device and trace its origins. The company found no indication that AI model weights, source code or customer data were improperly accessed. If convicted, Alfozan could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
