N Chandrasekaran resigns: How Tata Sons will choose its next chairman

N Chandrasekaran has stepped down as Tata Sons chairman and will not seek reappointment when his current term ends in February 2027. He joined the Tata Group in 1987, became TCS CEO in 2009 and took charge of Tata Sons in 2017. During his tenure, the group expanded into aviation, digital businesses, electric vehicles, electronics and semiconductors. His exit now puts the spotlight on who will succeed him and lead Tata Sons into its next phase.
