Thinking out of the cage21-NOV-09
Admittedly, Nehru was there at the start of things, the end of an age, the awakening of a nation, that tryst with destiny. So he and others of his generation were better placed than we are to think laterally, to explore all of history for models towards which to incline the path of our future. He also spent years in prison, an enforced separation from the bustle and fire of the freedom movement which enabled him to look beyond the constrained present to the past and future, all in the service of his country. In other words, he used his time in prison to think big for India.
Sensex makes remarkable recovery, regains 17K20-NOV-09
The Sensex opened in the red at 16,772, mirroring negative global cues. Follow-up selling saw the index slip to a low of 16,636 - down 150 points from the previous close.
Sensex ends up 247pts20-NOV-09
The Sensex finally ended (provisional) at 17,032, up 247 points. The NSE Nifty ended (provisional) at 5,060, up 71 points.

The Sensex after rebounding into positive zone has surged singificantly mainly on account of fresh buying in index heavyweights.

The Sensex opened in the positive at 17,004 but soon slipped into the negative territory. The BSE-benchmark touched a low of 16,712, down 293 points from the day's high on intense selling. The Sensex finally ended at 16,785, down 213 points. The NSE Nifty settled at 4,989, down 66 points.

The Sensex has finally ended (provisional) at 16,770, down 228 points.
Sensex tumbles over 250pts19-NOV-09
The Sensex has slipped further down and is now at 16,742, down 256 points.
Sensex remains subdued19-NOV-09
The Sensex after slipping to a low of 16,864 has recovered partially from there. The index is now at 16,919, down 80 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,033, down 22 points.
Markets trim losses19-NOV-09
The indices have recouped some of their losses in the past one hour, thanks to buying in metals, consumer durables and pharma stocks. The Sensex is now quoting at 16,953, down 44 points, and the Nifty is at 5042, down 12 points.
Markets trade soft19-NOV-09
The markets have extended their losses in the past one hour; the Sensex is now quoting at 16,883, down 114 points and the Nifty is at 5024, down 30 points, due to selling pressure in realty, IT and technology stocks.
