How to change Airtel broadband plan?

The battle between Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio has intensified in the last few years. With Mukesh Ambani-led Jio entering the broadband market after its entry in the telecom sector, Airtel is leaving no stone unturned to consolidate its market share. Airtel recently started offering unlimited data across all broadband plans. It also announced cheaper broadband plans starting from Rs 499 with a speed of 40 mbps, unlimited data and calling.

How to change your broadband plan?

If you are looking to shift to a cheaper internet plan or a plan with more benefits, here is what you will have to do

Users can go through the following two ways to change their broadband plans

1.  Customer care

Calling customer care was what most of us used to do before apps came in. If you find calling customer care easier, here is what you have to do.

Call Airtel customer care on 121 or 199 using your registered phone number with Airtel. Once you reach the customer care executive, ask the executive to change your broadband plan.

2.  Airtel Thanks app

Airtel Thanks app is relatively easy to use. The app can be used to get new broadband plans, postpaid and prepaid plans, Airtel DTH, and Airtel Xtream. You can also use the app to pay different bills, check balances, and get other details.

To change the broadband plan using Airtel Thanks app:

Download the app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Once you have downloaded the app, go to ‘More’. Select My Airtel, and then go to Manage Account. Select your broadband connection account. Here select ‘My Plan’ and different broadband plans will appear for you to choose from. Select the plan you want and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you have followed the instructions, you will receive confirmation for the same.
