Australian info security company forms JV with Pune cyber-law firm

Australian information security company, Stickman Consulting, has entered into a joint venture with Pune-based cyber-law firm Abhay Nevagi and Associates to offer services in the field of information security and cyber forensics in India.

The new joint venture company would be known as Stickman & Nevagi Cyber Forensic Investigation Services Private Limited.

Ajay Unni, Global Managing Director of Stickman Consulting said, “In modern day business practices, management and compliance for Information Security and certification of data, security standards are of paramount importance not only to prevent cyber crime but also for data protection. With this JV we intend to offer a complete solution in specific areas based on expertise of both the entities.”

The JV will leverage on Stickman’s methodology of ‘wisdom’ to offer focussed information security solutions that enables practices for securing digital information, protection from cyber crimes, optimizing redundant security layers strengthened by robust legal solutions.

“With this JV we are trying to fill the gap that exists to tackle problems with data security, data misuse, web attacks and cyber forensics . Especially, in the current times when India has been ranked as the highest spam originator country in the world contributing to the 4 per cent of worldwide spam volume, it has jumped from rank 13 in 2008 to rank in 2009 when it comes to web based attacks and is witnessing multi-fold increase in cyber crime every year,” said Abhay S Nevagi, head, Abhay Nevagi & Associates.

The company has a definite plan to enter neighbouring countries after its India operations are stabilized, Unni added. In the near future, it also intends to create products and services in the cyber and information security domain along with a plan of setting up a Cyber Forensic School for imparting training in this field.
