BenQ India hoping to achieve $100 mn revenue by 2010

Taiwan-based digital device maker BenQ India is hoping to achieve a revenue of $80-100 million by 2010, a top company official said today.

The company achieved a turnover of $25 million in 2008 and aims to achieve $40 million by this year end.

"By 2010, we are expecting to reach $80-100 million", BenQ India Director Max Hsu told reporters here.

He said for this purpose the company has proposed to increase its dealership networks and also to set up more 'shop-in-shops' in the country as part of building up their brand. "It will be a small place inside a shop where our products will be displayed.About 75 shop-in-shops are proposed to be set up this year and by next year about 200, he said.

The company had signed an agreement with Redington India for distribution about four months back and before that they had agreement with Neoteric for distribution of products.

The company had a market share of 15 per cent overall in the LCD monitor market (in India), he said.

The company, which made its foray into consumer electronic segment in India on August 27 this year, currently offers various products including LCD Television sets, lap tops, all-in-one Personal computers and mini-projectors.
