Honeywell Turbo Technologies (HTT), the global leader in automotive turbocharger technology, has announced the appointment of Milind Godbole as managing director of its India operations, as the country moves rapidly towards the market for diesel cars.

Godbole will be responsible for developing the business strategy to drive growth across divisions and functions for HTT India — a business that has consistently grown faster than the industry, despite being the most recent turbocharger entrant in the country.

Honeywell’s turbo business sales have tripled in India during the past three years and the manufacturing capacity of the plant in Pune now exceeds more than 1.5 million units annually, with an expanding portfolio of turbos for passenger vehicles as well as on- and off-highway commercial vehicles.

Godbole, who was earlier the general manager for India of the same company, will focus on both domestic sales and exports, even as HTT looks forward to exponential growth in the Indian arena, fuelled by a healthy long-term growth of the automotive industry.

Milind joined Honeywell in 1999 and has spent 12 years in various leadership roles in sales, energy and projects. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune, and a master’s in business management from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.

Before joining Honeywell, Milind spent close to 14 years in the building solutions industry, including eight years in sales and planning for a leading electromechanical services company in West Asia.

Honeywell has set up state-of-the-art manufacturing and engineering operations for its automation, turbocharger, and refining businesses and operates its global centres of excellence for research, product development, and innovation in India. It employs more than 12,500 people across several key Indian cities.
