Carzonrent to expand its fleet

Cab services provider Carzonrent (India) Private Limited (CIPL) will be adding 500 more vehicles to its existing fleet of 700 Easy Cabs in Hyderabad. While 200 additional cars each will be for inter-city and intra-city travel, 100 will be provided exclusively for self-drive services, according to CIPL managing director and CEO, Rajiv Vij.

Vij told mediapersons here on Friday CIPL had targeted to double its market share in the car rental business in the city from the existing 9-10 per cent to 20 per cent in the next couple of years. It would further invest Rs 25 crore for this purpose.

He said CIPL was also collaborating with international car rental partners in 145 countries to facilitate car rental services to Indians going abroad. These services will be available in a months time.

Stating that the revenue of CIPL had crossed Rs 250 crore last year, Vij said the company currently has a fleet of 6,500 cars manned by 6,000 drivers across the country. It has a presence in 17 cities with 750 persons on its rolls.
