Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) today reported a 29.75 per cent dip in its net profit for the quarter ending September 30, 2010.
The city-headquartered company reported a net profit of Rs 97.78 crore for the July-September quarter, as against Rs 139.20 crore in the same period last year, CPCL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
For the half-year period ending September 30, 2010, the net profit stood at Rs 42.47 crore, as against Rs 443.92 crore in the corresponding period last year, it said.
The net sales for the quarter ending September 30, 2010, grew to Rs 8,122.22 crore, as compared to Rs 6,997.14 crore in the year-ago period.
For the half year ending September 30, 2010, the net sales of the company grew to Rs 14,449.87 crore from Rs 12,867.53 crore in the same period last year, it said.
