Chennai-based Dr Agarwal’s Group of Eye Hospitals is planning to invest Rs 20 crore in Andhra Pradesh to set up 10 eye hospitals across the state.

The company forayed into the Andhra Pradesh market on Wednesday with the launch of four hospitals in Hyderabad.

“As part of Phase-I, we have invested Rs 30 crore in these four hospitals. We are planning to invest another Rs 20 crore to set up 10 secondary and secondary-plus-type eye care centres across the state, including in Vijayawada, Guntur, Vishakapatanam and Warangal,” Dr Agarwal’s Group chairman and managing director Amar Agarwal stated in a press release.

The hospitals will have all the latest technology and equipment to treat all types of eye ailments, including refraction error correction, cataract surgery, advanced LASIK, retinal disorder, paediatric ophthalmology and squint.

The group has plans to expand its operations to Tamil Nadu, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Gujarat, besides expanding its footprints in the overseas markets.

Dr Agarwal’s Group, established in 1957, currently has 13 branches in India and one centre in Mauritius, supported by more than 200 eye specialists and 900 paramedical staff.
