JSW Group is planning to scale up its JSW One initiative as a tech-based solutions platform for its customers, as part of a larger plan to enter the e-commerce space.

As an e-commerce player, JSW Group will service the needs of both B2B and B2C customers.

According to sources, JSW could invest Rs 500-700 crore to build the e-commerce platform. The group’s official spokesperson declined to comment on the quantum.

Last August, the JSW Group had combined its distribution and supply chain expertise across the steel and cement segments under an integrated JSW One initiative launched in the East. Now, a pan-India scale-up as a technology platform is being planned.

In the B2B space, JSW One will offer an e-commerce marketplace for small and medium-sized steel product makers, while in B2C space, it will provide home-building solutions for independent home builders. The B2C part will combine the group’s product, distribution and supply chain expertise across steel, cement and paints business, as all three have a common set of customers.

As part of the e-commerce foray, the group will also extend the JSW One platform to influencers in the home-construction industry including contractors, masons, engineers, architects, painters.

JSW One will also integrate all influencer loyalty schemes currently offered across its steel, cement and paints businesses.

Strategic collaborations with other non-competing branded building material products like sanitaryware, kitchens home accessories with a view to offering a holistic experience for home-building consumers, is also being explored.
