Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) has refuted the claims of National Aluminium Company (Nalco) which had blamed the coal company for supplying poor quality and inadequate coal, resulting in profit slump of the aluminium major in the July-September period.
“The aluminium company had not raised any objection of the quality of coal with the joint committee of both the companies. Further, Nalco has been supplied adequate coal as per its linkage demand in the first six months of the current financial year,” said Kulamani Biswal, director (finance), MCL.
Till the end of September, MCL supplied 2.57 million tonnes of coal to Nalco, more than 2.65 million tonnes mandated under FSA, despite extended monsoons.
