MTNL net dips 33%

State-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has registered 33 per cent fall in its net profit to Rs 127.03 crore for the quarter ending December 2005. In the year-ago period, the figure stood at Rs 190 crore.

The company's net income is also down two per cent to Rs 1,362 crore in December 05, from Rs 1,389 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The board has declared an interim dividend of 30 per cent on the paid-up equity share capital of the company.
