Nikesh Arora is not sad that he resigned from SoftBank Group (SBG), he answered in tweet to an admirer on social media site Twitter. For more than four hours, the suave ex- representative director, resident and COO of SBG patiently answered all questions and responded to remarks and observations on Twitter.

“I am not sad. I learnt a lot, sitting with Masa at dinner and chatting about life in the future,” he said in a tweet. He however made it clear that he would be supporting SoftBank for at least another year. “Plan to support them for an year, hence continuing as advisor",” he tweeted.

His micro-blogging handle, became an impromptu venue of an interaction of sorts with Arora where everyone starting from startup bosses such as Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma, media personnel and ‘tweeple’ asked him all sorts of questions.

In his series of tweets and replies he reiterated the fact the he has quit SBG because of Masayoshi Son, Chairman & CEO of the company wants to continue be the top boss for the next 10 years. On being asked if it was the Special Committee review that made him take the decision he said, “No, didn't want to be CEO in waiting past my sell by date.”

In a surprisingly jovial mood, Arora laughed it off when a Twitter user indicated that Arora had resigned just in time to be the next Reserve Bank of India Governor. “Why o why? That's a big setback for Indian startup ecosystem. Best wishes and hoping even bigger impact next,” Sharma had said in a tweet. To this Arora said that he would still continue to support Indian startups. “Going to continue to support the Indian startup ecosystem....can't change faith if you change jobs, (sic),” he tweeted.

While speculations are rife over Arora putting in his papers just 24 hours after getting a clean chit, Arora said that he never doubted that the outcome of Special Committee review. “Never had a doubt. My father was a man with the highest integrity, if there was one thing he taught me, that was it,” he said in a tweet.

On being asked if Arora would still continue to be involved in the India portfolio, he said that he support everyone they have invested in. “Masa and I are still in love with each other. I will support everyone I invested in, and they know that,” he replied.

While Arora kept saying he has ‘no plan’ as of now, at one point in a cryptic reply to what he might be doing next, he indicated that it might be with a company which was into computers a while back. “It used to be a computer company a while ago,” he said.

On the question that if he regrets any investments he said, “The nature of investing is wins and losses, as long as wins overweight losses you win. Can't regret the loss.”
