Ratnabali Capital Markets, a Kolkata-based stock broking company, has reported a net profit of Rs 2.03 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2007, a 28.5 per cent drop compared with Rs 2.84 crore in the corresponding period last year. Total income increased 29.14 per cent at Rs 192.83 crore from Rs 149.31 crore.
 
Graphite India net up 38% at Rs 38 crore
 
Electrode manufacturer Graphite India has recorded a net profit of Rs 37.95 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2007, an increase of 38 per cent over the corresponding period last year, on the back of increased volumes, better realisation, cost reduction and higher plant productivity. Sales from operations stood at Rs 277.99 crore, a growth of 22 per cent.
 
Suprajit Engg Q2 net drops 47%
 
Auto component maker Suprajit Engineering has reported a 47 per cent drop in its net profit at Rs 1.46 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 year-on-year.
 
The company's total income also dropped marginally by 1.42 per cent to Rs 32.62 crore. The drop in income and profit was mainly on account of a sharp rise in the cost of raw materials and higher taxes, excise duties and payment of fringe benefit taxes.
