RBT asked to show documents on company liquidation

The Orissa government has issued notices to both the factions of the family claiming ownership of the manganese and iron ore mines of Ram Bahadur Thakur Ltd (RBTL) to produce documents pertaining to the alleged liquidation of the company.

As part of the administrative enquiry, the secretary, steel and mines department of Orissa government, has served notice to M M Sharma and Chaturbhuj Sharma to produce the documents as to whether the company is liquidated.

They have also been asked to produce the order of the division bench of the Patna High Court pertaining to the liquidation of the company. Both the factions have been asked to submit the documents on 7 October, sources said.

Since there are issues like liquidation of RBTL and dispute among the family members of the proprietor of the company, their personal appearance and submission of original documents before the secretary will help to establish who among the shareholders was competent to issue power of attorney.
