Reliance Dairy Foods, a unit of Reliance Retail, has forayed into distribution of milk in Mumbai and Thane under Dairy Life brand.

The move will directly put Reliance in competition with market leaders such as Amul, Gokul, Mahanand and others.

Reliance was so far selling it in its supermarkets and hypermarkets called Reliance Fresh and Reliance Hyper and started selling to kiranas during the last one month.

Reliance entered the dairy business with the launch of Dairy Life in Hyderabad and subsequently entered other markets such as NCR and Pune.
