Religare hires BofA-Merrill Lynch analyst

The brokerage empaneled with nearly 575 institutional investors; covers 318 stocks globally

Religare Capital Markets has hired analyst Arvind Bothra from Bank of America-Merriill Lynch.

Bothra tracked the healthcare sector for over six years and was the highest rated Healthcare analyst as per Thomson Reuters Starmine for 2013, according to a statement from Religare.

He joins as Vice President, Institutional Research and will report to Head of Institutional Research, Siddharth Teli.

Religare Capital Markets Managing Director and Head of Equities, Gautam Trivedi suggested that the move is in anticipation of future growth in the healthcare sector.

“Arvind brings with him deep understanding of India’s rapidly expanding healthcare sector, which is expected to see lot more activity in the coming years. With his vast experience and domain expertise, he will strengthen our healthcare vertical and help create value for RCML’s clients,” he said in the press release.

The brokerage is empaneled with nearly 575 institutional investors and covers 318 stocks globally, according to the statement.  It employs over 340 people, it added.

Religare has been in the news for several high profile hires. Its hires include bankers from UBS, Citi and HSBC.

According to its website, it is present in institutional equities, investment banking, and also offers Smart Order Routing -- an automated routing facility for picking which exchange would be best for executing orders.
