Reliance Industries (RIL) is likely to sign gas sales contracts with fertiliser companies on March 27.

"The signing has been scheduled at a five-star hotel on Friday afternoon," a government official said today.

RIL and 12 fertiliser firms that are among the first receivers of gas from the Mukesh Ambani-run firm's eastern offshore KG-D6 fields have closed all outstanding issues and the signing of the Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement has been scheduled for Friday.

KG-D6 will start producing gas in the next few days and initial volumes would go to meet the fuel deficit at urea making plants.
