SanDisk to stregthen presence in western India

Nationally, under its geo-expansion strategy, the company has identified 27 cities for the sales

SanDisk Corporation, a  flash storage solutions company is expanding footprint in western region of India (Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh) with the launch of its high-performance and high-capacity flash memory products.

With host devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, notebooks and cameras becoming mainstream, SanDisk sees huge potential for flash memory products in these market. SanDisk brand is poised to establish its strong footprint in the region as an innovative global leader that customers can trust to capture, share and preserve their most important digital assets. Nationally, under its geo-expansion strategy, it has identified 27 cities for the sales.

“As a part of geo-expansion strategy, SanDisk’s focus for 2014 is on retail product development and cater to the growing needs of customers in the growing markets like in western India and cities like Pune, Ahmadabad and Raipur. Our focus is to capitalize on opportunities in emerging markets across India particularly western region of India, and we are deploying strategies to boost growth, explore new channels, and provide high-quality products that offer real benefit to our consumers. This is part of the larger strategy of establishing a strong distribution and supply chain network, ” says Avijit Ganguly, National Sales Manager, SanDisk Corporation.

According to CMR’s India Quarterly Consumer Storage Flash Memory Market Review 2014, the India consumer storage flash memory unit shipments touched 23 million units recording a 52 per cent year-on-year growth and 17 per cent sequential growth in second quarter of 2014.

In India, SanDisk Corp currently has a market share of about 35 per cent across product categories such as microSD cards, SD cards and flash.It is growing at around 35-40 per cent every year.

Ganguly added, "Pune is an important market for SanDisk India with large number of young consumers and growing awareness for smart devices. The explosion of digital content in key markets like the region is driving the need for more storage, and flash memory is an ideal technology for mobile, computing and consumer electronics devices. SanDisk is building its engagement with the channel partners this region through road shows, incentive programmes for partners and enhanced level of retail visibility."
