The Raheja-owned department store chain Shoppers Stop today said it planned to invest Rs 250 crore in opening around 25 more stores in the next four years, as demand for lifestyle products picks up.
Shoppers Stop will penetrate deeper into metros, where it already has a presence. And, enter eight new cities such as Bhopal, Vijayawada and Siliguri, among others, said Govind Shrikhande, chief executive of Shoppers Stop Ltd.
The chain runs 30 department stores and speciality retail formats such as HomeStop and the Crossword book stores.
“We took 20 years to open our first 30 stores. We want to open the next 30 in less than five years,” said Shrikhande during the relaunch of its flagship store in the Andheri.
