Country's largest private thermal power producer Tata Power today reported 2.36% rise in its net profit for the financial year ended March 31, 2011 at Rs 970 crore.
The company reported a net profit of Rs 947 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year (2009-10), Tata Power said in a release.
However, the total income of the company reduced 2.53% at Rs 6,918.4 crore from Rs 7,098.2 crore during the last fiscal.
Among its projects during the last fiscal, Tata Power commissioned the 120 MW thermal power station in March, 2011. In the area of renewable energy, the company commissioned a 3 MW photo-voltaic (PV) based grid connected solar power plant at Mulshi in Maharashtra.
It also signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam for the 25 MW solar PV project at Mithapur in Gujarat.
Tata Power plans to commission the first 800 MW unit of the Mundra ultra mega power project (4,000 MW) in Gujarat in September, 2011.
