Power manufacturer Tata Power reported an 87% decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 24 crore for the quarter ended December 2015. It was Rs 198 crore during the same period a year ago.

However, revenue rose 9% to Rs 9,230 crore as against Rs 8,475 crore in year-ago period.

The company reported an exceptional loss of Rs 601 crore during the quarter.

The company incurred a forex loss of Rs 61 crore as compared to a forex gain of Rs 421 crore in December 2014.

On Friday, the company's scrip on BSE closed 2.2% higher at Rs 60.
