United Phosphorus has posted a 5.98% rise in net profit after tax at Rs 557.64 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011, compared with Rs 526.16 crore the previous year.
The firm's total income increased from Rs 5,492.79 crore in FY10 to Rs 5,898.16 crore for the year under consideration.
On a standalone basis, the net profit dipped 13.12% to Rs 157.50 crore in FY11, compared with Rs 181.29 crore the previous year.
The firm's total income was up 16.65% from Rs 2,627.34 crore in FY10 to Rs 3,064.68 crore for the year under consideration.
Forex loss and sluggish sales overseas in FY11 impacted the profitability of fertiliser maker United Phosphorus, which posted a muted 5.7% rise in consolidated net profit in the year.
The results of the firm pulled its shares down over 5% on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
