The Shimla ropeway will connect the tourist information centre on the bypass road and Mall Road.
In Dharamsala, one ropeway will connect the Chamunda temple and Adi Himani Chamunda. Another will connect Dharamsala and Mcleodgunj, the seat of the Dalai Lama, uphill.

The government also approved canceling small hydel electric projects in the private sector. The projects are Ghagas, Anni-IV, Najan, Suhi, Chachul, Joiner Top-I and Sainj Bhagaru. It also approved expansion of the JP Himachal cement plant at Baga in Solan.
