Tamil super star Rajinikanth has filed a petition with the Madras high court seeking stay on the release of Hindi film ‘Main Hoon Rajinikanth’, claiming “it would cause a significant and substantial damage to him in addition to an irreparable loss of reputation, goodwill and deception to the public”.

In his petition, the film star said, if the producer was allowed to use the name or image or style of delivering dialogues in the upcoming movie, “it would cause significant and substantial damage to him.”

He added despite he being an exceptionally well known and enjoying the adoration and recognition of his fans across the globe, has deliberately chosen not to authorise any biopic featuring him or create any work based upon his personal self/personality as he is personally against such gross commercialisation of his name and reputation. This has been his personal choice for the past several decades, added the petition.

In the petition, he further added the production firm had not approached him or obtained his consent or permission, either written or oral to use his name, caricature, image and style of delivering dialogue in its forthcoming feature film and has been going ahead with the project.
