Fourteen persons, including seven of a family and government official were killed and four seriously injured in three separate mishaps in Karnataka today.
Seven members of family died in a head-on collision involving their car and a lorry at Adipalli in Kolar district, while three others, including the deputy commissioner of a district and his wife were killed in a similar mishap near Cuddapah on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border, police said.
The officials' daughter was grievously injured in the mishap and is receiving treatment.
In the third accident involving a manganese ore-laden lorry and a tractor, four persons died on the spot and three were injured.
The mishap occurred when the lorry, proceeding to Hubli from Ankola, collided with the tractor.
