2G scam: Govt refutes Behura's allegations on Chidambaram

Kapil Sibal today said that the government has refuted former Telecom Secretary Siddhartha Behura's allegations against then Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Finance Secretary D Subbarao (now RBI governor) with regard to 2G scam.

He said that, "There is no record of any meeting on December 4, 2007, attended by Chidambaram and Subbarao where the decision was taken to allocate licences without auctioning spectrum, as submitted by Behura in 2G court."

"It is surprising that Behura, who joined on January 1, 2008, is making a reference to a meeting of December 4, 2007, when he had no personal knowledge of it and has not produced any document to support his claim," Sibal added.
