"Let them (carmakers) come out, we will definitely see and consider (for giving incentives)," Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit told reporters on the sidelines of launching the electric car REVAi here.
Delhi offers a total of 29.5 per cent tax and other rebates to sale of REVAi to promote the environment friendly car.

When asked if the government would consider a similar kind of tax rebates, she said, "... We will be really happy to encourage such vehicles, but they have not come to us yet."

Recently, Honda Siel launched the hybrid version of its luxury sedan Civic in the country, priced at Rs 21.5 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi), which is almost double than its petrol version. Other carmakers, like Mahindra & Mahindra and Toyota are also working for long to introduce fuel efficient and less polluting hybrid cars from their stables.

While launching the electric car, REVAi, Dikshit said: "It is a green letter day for us as we are introducing for the first time the car of the future. I would appeal to those car consumers in Delhi, who have several cars at home, should have atleast one REVAi car."

Diesel is greatest polluters of all fuels and the Delhi government is trying very hard to soften the impact of this petroleum product, she added.
