Tamil Nadu chief minister said the ordinance route food security bill by the Centre is "an attempt to put a veil over its corruption and anti-people actions and it would fail"
In a statement Jayalalithaa condemned the Centre’s decision to pass an ordinance to bring into force the food security bill.

She further said "it is the government’s attempt to put a veil over its corruption would fail. The Congress party is trying to create a protection for itself through this bill and not food security," she said
When the monsoon session of the Parliament to begin later this month bringing an ordinance for the food security bill is undemocratic, said the chief minister, who alleged that the bill with lots of flaws is actually a bill for food insecurity.
While stating PDS system in Tamil Nadu is a "grand" success and caters to all the section of people in the State, she urged the Union Government to exempt the State from the Scheme and continue to provide state's share.
She said that union government's Food Security Scheme "is full of confusion" and the proposed Targeted Public Distribution Scheme will result in Rs 1,800 crore additional expense to the Tamil Nadu government and the Centre has not give any gurantee to compensate this additional expense.
