Though most of the BPOs had warned their employees and had asked them to reach office early, some people preferred staying at home.

"We have our taxis and buses plying in Gurgaon, but still a lot of employees were not able to come. There were some issues in Gurgaon and on the Noida border.", said Niraj Vedwa, president, head global sales and marketing, Nucleus Software Exports.

Ravi Verma, head of HR, Nucleus, said, "Most people reached office early at about 8.30 in the morning as they had been told not to take the main roads. If 10 of our 2000 employees couldn't come, it had absolutely no impact on us."

Genpact officials claimed that their operations had not been affected as the bandh had been announced in advance and they had taken adequate measures to avoid problems.
Their employees had been asked to take different routes so that operations remained unhindered.

HCL employees said that they, specially the ones living in NCR, had been advised not to take risk as the DND (Delhi-Noida-Delhi) flyover was blocked.
