A day-long rail blockade observed by the Telangana Joint Action Committee resulted in disruption of rail traffic in the entire region on Tuesday. With pro-Telangana activists squatting on the railway track at several places demanding the Centre to introduce a Bill seeking separate statehood to the region, the railway authorities had to either cancel or reschedule over a score of express train services besides completely suspending the operations of passenger and local trains. At many places in the district, protestors were seen cooking food, singing songs and playing games on the railway track. Nevertheless, barring few minor incidents, the blockade passed off peacefully.
