Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Deputy Governor Rakesh Mohan today met the Finance Minister P Chidambaram, a week before the five-year tenure of the current head of the central bank comes to an end.
There have been reports saying that Rakesh Mohan is being considered as possible successor for the post held by Y V Reddy.
Emerging after the meeting with finance minister, Rakesh Mohan refused to answer questions whether he is in contention for the post of RBI governor.
Finance ministry also did not respond to queries on what transpired in the meeting between Mohan and the union finance minister, P Chidambaram.
