Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa today offered to hold a five-day legislature session in September — two days to discuss “scams” and three days devoted to debate problems faced by the rural masses.

He made the offer after JD(S) leader H D Revanna accused the government of “rushing through” the business proceedings in the Legislative Assembly on the last day of the current session in a bid to “cover up scams”.

Yeddyurappa said the alleged scams of the present government and previous ones could be discussed in a legislature session that can be convened for two days in September to discuss “only scams”.

Later, he said he was ready for a five-day session — two days for discussing scams and three days to deliberate on the hardship of rural folk, ways to halt migration to urban areas, creating opportunities in villages and improving their lot.

The chief minister also said that from next year, legislature would meet for at least 60 days in a year.
