Alleging the BJP was spending crores of rupees on campaigning for ongoing Lok Sabha polls, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said this amount would be realised from the people after the elections.

"The BJP is spending Rs 1000 crore on poll campaign and this will be realised from the public after the elections," he told a public meeting in Aonla.

"There is no Modi wave across the country. It is only Rs 1000 crore which is creating an atmosphere like this," Yadav said.

On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party was lagging behind in campaigning but "we will make a secular government at the Centre", he said.

On the BJP's election manifesto, the Chief Minister said there were many hidden meanings in the document which needed to be understood.

There was also no mention of the common man in the manifesto, he said.

Referring to the Congress, the Chief Minister said the party was nowhere locked in direct contests in Uttar Pradesh.

"The country has been humiliated due to rampant graft during the Congress rule," he said.

Referring to the crash of an Hercules aircraft and explosions in submarines, Yadav said the root cause of all this was corruption.

"Our officials and leaders are being humiliated in other countries and this has affected the credibility of India and its citizens," he said.
