 "Kejriwal attacks both BJP and Congress in his roadshow")
In yet another salvo at BJP and Congress, Arvind Kejriwal today held both the parties responsible for AAP quitting the government in Delhi, alleging that he was not allowed to continue for opposing the move to hike gas price that would have benefitted Reliance Industries.
"BJP and Congress were favoring Mukesh Ambani. That was the main reason why they didn't allow us to run the government in Delhi. Both parties wanted hike in price of natural gas but due to our effort it did not happen," Kejriwal said addressing a roadshow in North-East Delhi constituency.
In February, the then AAP government had ordered filing of an FIR against Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily, former minister Murli Deora and Ambani for alleged collusion in the hike in prices of natural gas from KG basin.
The Centre had decided to hike the natural gas price from USD 4.2 per million British thermal units to USD 8.3 from April 1 but the Election Commission last month had asked the Government to delay the increase till completion of elections.
Kejriwal also exhuded confidence of AAP's victory in Varanasi and Amethi from where Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi are contesting the Lok Sabha polls. Kejriwal is fighting the polls from Varanasi while another AAP leader Kumar Vishwas has been fielded against Gandhi in Amethi.
"After April 10, I am going to Varanasi to defeat BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Besides, we have also fielded our candidates against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. We will defeat them with people's support," Kejriwal said.
The roadshow in North East Delhi started from Tisra Pusta in Sonia Vihar and passed through Kajhuri, Bhajanpura, New Mustfabad and Seelampur. JNU professor Anand Kumar is contesting the polls from the constituency.
"The BJP and Congress didn't allow the AAP Government to function as it was taking several decision for welfare of people," Kejriwal said while addressing a gathering from an open jeep with Kumar by his side.
A large number of people including housewives, vendors, labourers, businessmen, elderly and even young girls were part of the roadshow.
Throughout the road show, residents peered out from the windows of their houses, waving and cheering at the Aam Aadmi Party chief. At a number of places, women performed 'aarti' and people garlanded him.
