Oriental Bank of Commerce to appoint 120 specialist officers

Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) has announced specialist officers’ recruitment 2017 drive.  The bank is looking at employing 120 officers. The online registration date opens on April 7, 2017 and the closing date for online registration is April 26, 2017.

The number of vacancies and also the number of reserved vacancies is provisional and may vary according to actual requirement of the bank. The reservation also includes the backlog of reserved vacancies.

 

Candidates belonging to reserved category for which no reservation has been prescribed are free to apply for vacancies under General category provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down for General category.

 

Eligibility criteria

Candidates looking at applying for Senior Manager (FA) –Chartered Accountant, Taxation) should have passed the respective CA Exam in first attempt from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The candidates should have not less than three years post qualification experience in taxation preferably in bank or public sector undertaking.

 

For Senior Manager (FA) – Chartered Accountant, Ind AS Cell posts, candidates have to have passed the respective CA Exam in first attempt from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He/she should have not less than three years post qualification experience in balance sheet, or IndAS, or IFRS preferably in Bank/Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). Candidates with Diploma in IFRS, or IndAs shall be given preference.

 

Candidates interested on Manager (FA) - Chartered Accountant should have passed the respective CA exams in first attempt from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with or without experience and age should not be more than 24 years as on the date of passing of the CA Final Examination. Candidates who have passed the respective CA exams from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in more than one attempt should possess minimum one-year post qualification experience in financial sector.

 

Candidates interested in assistant manager (financial analyst) posts have to have an MBA in Finance/ PGDBM (2 years) with specialisation in finance. Qualified Chartered Accountant, or ICWA, or CFA from recognised university/ institutes can apply too. While no experience required for scale I posts. The candidates must have degrees must be from full-time (regular) college as on April 1, 2017

 

 

Selection process

Candidates who had applied for Assistant Manager (FA) position will have to appear for an online test. Based on the performance, they will be shortlisted for personal interviews.

The selection procedure for Senior Manager (FA)-Chartered Accountant, Taxation , Senior Manager (FA) –Chartered Accountant, Ind AS Cell & Manager (FA)-Chartered Accountant, i.e.  for scale II & III positions, applicants need to appear only for personal interview only that will carry a total of 100 marks.

The selection for posts in Scale-II & above shall be made on the basis of performance in the interview.

The candidates selected in Scale II/ III & Scale - I will be on probation for a period of 12 months (1 year) and 24 months (2 years) respectively from the date of his/her joining the bank.

The online registration form is available on www.obcindia.co.in. Candidates have to submit the application before April 26, 2017. Application fee for the posts is Rs.600 for General and OBC category, or Rs.100. It can be paid through online mode or NEFT challan.

 

An email or SMS containing your registration number & password will be sent on successful registration, which needs to preserved for future reference.
