Bengaluru-based retail printing firm Printo has appointed Balu Iyer as its new chief executive while founder Manish Sharma will take up the role of chairman to focus on the company’s digital strategy and M&A.

An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and Unilever veteran, Iyer has over two-and-a-half decades of experience including building businesses of confectionery and mushroom exports. Prior to taking up the role as chief executive, he had served as the Chief Operating Officer at Printo for nearly six years.

“Printo has developed a unique business model that serves growing SME demand for professional print services. Our customers are the real engine for economic growth and Printo understands this market well,” said Iyer.

Under Iyer’s leadership, Printo is looking to double its revenue in the next three years by focusing on an omni-channel strategy and expanding to more cities. The Bengaluru company has opened stores in Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune and plans to enter Delhi NCR and Mumbai by the end of the current year.

“I will complement Balu by developing the omni-channel strategy and pursuing M&A opportunities, along with managing the Board,” said Manish Sharma.
