Asian markets open soft

The Asian markets have opened largely in the red.

Hang Seng is quoting at 20,425, weaker by 61 points or 0.3% and Nikkei is at 9,215, down 63 points or 0.6%. Taiwan Weighted is at 7,688, lower by 12 points or 0.1%.

On the other hand, Straits Times is at 2,932, higher by six points or 0.2%, Seoul Composite is at 1,749, higher by one point and Shanghai Composite is at 2,537, up one point.
