Chilli futures today moved up by Rs 32 to Rs 5,430 per quintal, as speculators created fresh positions on pick-up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, April chilli rose by Rs 32, or 0.59%, to Rs 5,430 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,795 lots.

The June spice traded higher by Rs 24, or 0.41%, to Rs 5,822 per quintal, with a business turnover of 3,415 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped chilli prices to trade higher at futures market.
