Mentha oil maintained its upward trend for the third straight day by rising Rs 5.70 to Rs 1,660.80 per kg in futures trading today, on pick-up in industrial and export demand.
Tight stocks availability in the physical market following less arrivals from producing region also supported the uptrend in mentha oil.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the February contract for mentha oil moved up by Rs 5.70, or 0.34% to Rs 1,660.80 per kg in business turnover of 1,528 lots.
In a similar fashion, the March contract gained Rs 4, or 0.24%, to Rs 1,686 per kg in 612 lots.
Marketmen said pick-up in industrial and export demand against less from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led an upward trend in mentha oil futures prices.
