Rising oil prices buoy US markets; Satyam slumps 15%

US markets edged up as an increasing oil and other commodity prices boosted shares of natural resources companies. The Dow added 74 points to 8,749. The Nasdaq gained 24 points (1.5%) at 1,850.
Indian ADRs also ended in the green.
Tata Communications soared 10% to $21.19. ICICI Bank surged 7% to $32.19.
MTNL and Dr Reddy's rallied 4% each to $5.02 and $13.67, respectively. HDFC Bank gained 3% at $102.03.
Patni Computers and Genpact added 2.5% each $10.69 and $10.98, respectively. Infosys and Wipro advanced 1% each.
Tata Motors was flat at $10.34.
However, Satyam plunged 15%, ending its three day winning streak, to $2.86. Sterlite slipped 1% to $14.
