Satyam Computer gains on Invista deal

Tech major Satyam Computer gained nearly 2 per cent on winning a multi-million dollar order. The stock was among the big gainers in the Sensex basket, to close at Rs 472.80, up 1.94 per cent. The counter was actively traded with volumes accounting for more than 10 lakh shares on BSE.

Satyam Computer announced about winning a major contract from Invista, a global leader in polymer, intermediates and fibers business, to run their global application maintenance system for their enterprise platforms.

The contract will initially run for 3 years with an option to extend it further. Under this agreement, the company will provide Invista application maintenance support for five clusters across the globe covering SAP technologies.

The contract also includes 24x7 global multi-lingual help desk support for their global enterprise applications to be provided by Nipuna, the company's BPO subsidiary.

The scope of this fixed bid project includes the as-is run and maintenance of the five ERP instances of Invista, which at present span US, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
