Sensex down 218pts; breadth -ve

The Sensex is now down 218 points at 14,346.

Maruti has plunged 3.7% to Rs 627, and Tata Steel has shed 3.3% at Rs 580.

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Infrastrucutre have plunged 2.7% each to Rs 814 and Rs 965, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Hindustan Unilever have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 386 and Rs 239, respectively.

NTPC, Ranbaxy, Sterlite and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped over 2% each to Rs 171, Rs 506, Rs 613 and Rs 161, respectively.

Infosys and Tata Power have declined nearly 2% each to Rs 1,715 and Rs 1,032, respectively.
