Sugar spurts on firm retail offtake
Sugar prices rose smartly at the Vashi Wholesale market here today due to strong domestic buying amid heavy festive offtake from bulk purchasers.
Small sugar quality (S-30) strengthened by Rs 10-39 per quintal to Rs 2,771-2,840 from overnight closing level of Rs 2,761-2,801.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) also went up by Rs 20-30 per quintal to Rs 2,811-2,881, as against Rs 2,791-2,851 yesterday.

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,771-2,840 (Rs 2,761- 2,801) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,811-2,881 (Rs 2,791-2,851).
