A 13-year old Nigerian girl who was arrested after refusing to detonate a suicide bomb in Nigeria's Kano city said that she was given to the Boko Haram militants by her father.

According to FOX News, the girl told a news conference Wednesday night that she saw many people being buried alive at the Boko Haram camp where her father took her in Bauchi state, east of Kano.

The girl said that she was given the choice to either be buried alive or go to paradise by becoming a suicide bomber.

Out of fear of being buried alive, the girl agreed to be strapped into a vest packed with explosives.

The girl was reportedly arrested in the hospital with a leg wound, a police officer reportedly said.

The girl was taken to the hospital by a taxi driver, who alerted the police after the girl left her suicide vest on the seat.

The country has witnessed numerous suicide bomb attacks carried out by females in recent months.

It is feared that the notorious Islamist group has been using abducted girls and women to carry out suicide bombings in the country.
