Former Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) additional secretary Muhammad Afzal Khan has said that people's mandate in May 2013 general election was stolen and the elections were rigged.

According to the Dawn, Khan said that former chief justices Tassadduq Jillani and Iftikhar Chaudhry had also been involved in rigging the vote.

Khan also alleged that Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did not win the elections by fair means.

Chief Election Commission Justice Fakhruddin G Ebrahim had turned a blind eye towards the rigging, Khan further said.

Pakistan-i-Insaf Chief Imran Khan said that Afzal Khan's statement justify the stand that he had been taking and commended former additional secretary's remarks.

Former Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Afzal Khan was being used as a pawn by PTI chief Imran Khan and that PTI's protest movement has been a flop.
