England captain Alastair Cook has reportedly said that he would reconsider his leadership after the team's dismal show in the Ashes series.

After their five-nil Ashes triumph, Australia claimed the limited overs series by hammering England by seven wickets with 10 overs to spare on Sunday, further pushing down England's tour.

According to the Daily Telegraph, after the match, the England captain said that he would review his role as the skipper after the tour is over.

He said that he would have to make a decision after they take stock after the next two games.

Reacting on the team's performance, Cook said that in the last few months they haven't played the cricket they are capable of and they have to look at the reasons why.

The report said that after the Sydney Test two weeks ago Cook was backed to remain as skipper by the England and Wales Cricket Board and he had stated his own desire to remain in the role but indicated things might have changed since then.

A possibility of Cook stepping aside as captain of the One Day International couldn't be ruled out owing to his demeanor after his side's eighth straight loss to Australia, the report added.
